ECF Director Alexandrina Najmowicz was invited to take part in a conference organised by the UN Human Rights office for Europe. In a video, she explained what civil society role should be according to the European Civic Forum and how the latter works towards achieving it.
“We are waiting for the EU to play an important role in protecting the space for civil society and to engage in a meaningful, open, regular and transparent dialogue,” says Alexandrina Najmowicz, Director of the European Civic Forum at the Protecting Civic Space Conference early this month.
She also reminded the institutional renewal, which shall give opportunities to civil society organisations to advocate for an open civic space, in times when attacks against civic actors and organisations are on the rise all over Europe. In order to respond to this phenomenon, the European Civic Forum and its members organisations have launched a call for mobilisation on 5 December, the Civic Pride day.
